HEADING OS

About

HEADING OS is a personal project by Misha Hanin, built for his own work and shared as an open framework.

The HEADING OS sail

Who builds it

Misha Hanin is the founder and CEO of 31 Concept, a cybersecurity company based in Dubai and Baku that builds ODUN.ONE, a sovereign deep packet intelligence platform. He has spent more than 30 years in cybersecurity, across government, enterprise and companies he started himself.

Along the way he beta-tested Check Point FireWall-1 and completed the Microsoft Certified Masters (MCM) programme, an intensive training that only about 500 people worldwide went through in the ten years it ran. In 2008 Microsoft gave him its Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award. He is a sailor and a technical diver, and the sailor's habit of holding a heading and correcting course runs through the whole system.

He runs his working day through HEADING OS: his mail, meetings, relationships, research and documents, with agents doing the work beside him. The engine is built in that same daily use, and changes when the work does. The current release is v0.14.0, and 968 commits have landed since that release.

HEADING OS is his personal project. 31 Concept is not involved in it, does not maintain, sponsor or endorse it, and bears no responsibility for it.

Why it exists

Assistants that live on someone else's servers ask for your mail, your contacts and your plans, and give you little say in what they send. HEADING OS starts from the other end: your data in your own repository, every send in your hand, and the agent working for one person who stays accountable for it.
